POEM: THE JOURNEY

THE JOURNEY

The journey it has been
Maybe shall always be!
Has gathered lows and highs
Foes with greed, friends in need
Yet indeed
Led us to learn
From the old not young
Of life
Of respect to earn
Of ambition left to burn

BECOME WHAT YOU WANT TO BE

Knowing what you want in life is very important. Most people do not know what they desire in life. Some still look for what their hearts really want while otherwise just live day in day out. It is very unfortunate that even top academic institutions have many students who have no idea what they want to do with their no-so-long life on earth. On this article, I look at some of the reasons why identifying ones dream in Kenyan set-up is not rosy.

I AM NOT UNEMPLOYED!!

I am tired of having to get loan to sustain me in school and still always remain in a verge of: an empty stomach, drug addiction, friends that slack around, useless college degree, useless gadgets or even ‘making babies’. I am tired of having to call parents for bail out. I am tired of being unemployed!
For the last two years I have had to watch my friends rise from hundreds-pockets’ to ‘hundred-thousand-pockets’ and still lag behind because of my studies I was keenly warned since childhood not to compromise on. But surely, for how long does this have to last or better yet,

We make so many friends in life. Some become dearest, some special;  we fall in love with some, some go abroad, or change cities, some leave us we  leave, or might be in contact, some might not or even don’t contact because of their ego, or vice versa. whatever they were, however they are, we still remember, love, miss, care for them because of the part they played, made memories in our lives…….. let old friends know that you haven’t forgotten them, tell new friends never will you forget them.

SEX IN THE DARK!!

Many a times we play sex in the dark. Check these questions out. 1. Did u know your sex partner's name. 2. Did u know his/her age. 3. Did u his/her know HIV status. 4. Did u know if he/she had any Sexually Transmitted Infections(STI). 5. Did u know if he/she had any other partner at the time u were having sex. 6. Did u know the number of partners he/she had had in the past. 7. Did u know whether or not the person had experienced any sexual assault. 8. Did the other person know your parents or did u know his/her parents/guardian. RATE YOURSELF N U WILL REALIZE THE STRANGERS U HAVE BEEN HAVING SEX WITH. Sex in the dark! Uh!

Never give up!

‘A successful person is not a victim of the environment.’  I read this very inspiring quote from somewhere I can’t tell by now.  This has been one of my many lines that can tick my heart and lift my spirit within the shortest time.

Today I wish to focus on the spirit of never giving up. The spirit of holding on to your principles, the grip of holding to your vision, to the hope and the will to thwart any weakness in you.

Recently I watched a very touching clip on YouTube. It was about this young man who was in a race in Olympics. After the starting shot went, the inspired lad sprinted with the sole aim of winning the race. However, some distance from the finish line, the young man limped and suddenly came to a halt as he held his thigh with one hand. His face was full of expressions. You could clearly see that he was in pain and with an expression of why? Why?  He went down. Soon the first aid team was rushing to help him.

However the greatest show of inspiration came! The unwavered young man, full of strength though in pain, rose and started limping along the path. He could not just give up!

One old man, who was later learnt to be his father, came out of the cheering crowd and tried to stop him. The spirit was high and the athlete kept on and on. He wanted to finish what he had started and that is what mattered most to him.

The fans cheered him on; and when he went ahead to cross the finish line.

Awesome!

Many a time in our lives we run such races. We develop such complications in the race. We fall down. We feel pain.

But remember that what matters most is finishing the race. Never give up despite the environment you are living in. make the best out of it and you will certainly succeed.
